The Great White Throne Judgment

The Great White Throne Judgment will be a judgment of all the dead from the beginning of human existence on the earth. The only people who will not need to be judged will be the redeemed people, both dead and living, who arose to meet the Lord at the Rapture.

"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened" (Revelation 20:11-12).

1. The throne
John saw an impressive, large white throne.

2. The Judge
Jesus Christ will sit upon the throne.

3. The Judged
The dead from all walks of life will be judged. "And the sea gave uup the dead that were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead that were in them" (Revelation 20:13).

4. The Evidence
"The books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works" (Revelation 20:12).

The books represent:

a. The Bible, which reveals God's plan for humanity.
b. The recorded history of each person's life.
c. The Book of Life, the book with the names of the righteous of all ages.

5. The Witnesses

The saints of the church will be present with Jesus.

6. The Judgment

Those whose names are not in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).

>>> Why do you think there has to be a judgment?

The concept of judgment is sometimes hard for our human minds to grasp, but for the righteous to have eternal peace, God must end evil and wickedness. The judgment will permanently contain all the enemy's forces and God's kingdom will reign eternally.
