Coming to the Father with a Child's Heart

Have you ever watched a child interact with their parent? There’s an unfiltered trust, an unquestioning dependence, and a delightful simplicity in their requests. They don't worry about whether they are "good enough" to ask for a hug or a snack; they just go.

This simple, beautiful dynamic is exactly what Jesus pointed to when He spoke about entering the Kingdom of Heaven. It's the key to a transformative relationship with our Heavenly Father.

The Invitation: Becoming Like Little Children

In Matthew 18:3, Jesus gives us one of the most profound statements about the posture required for faith:

"And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." (KJV)

To "become as little children" isn't a call to immaturity, but a call to radical humility and dependent trust.

Prayer for a Child's Heart

Here is a short prayer, inspired by the desire to approach God with humility and simple faith:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the invitation to come to You, not based on my merit, but on Your grace.

I confess that I often complicate my relationship with You. I try to earn Your love, I carry burdens that aren't mine to carry, and I allow pride and worry to cloud my view of Your goodness.

Lord, I ask that You would convert my heart to be like that of a child.

• Give me the humility to trust You completely.

• Give me the simplicity to believe Your promises without doubt.

• Give me the dependence to acknowledge my constant need for You.

• Restore my wonder and awe for who You are.

I lay down my self-sufficiency and choose to rest in Your loving protection. Help me to simply receive Your love and live in the joy of being Your beloved child today.
